- Physical or emotional harassment
- Any form of bullying or intimidation
- Group-based discrimination
Ragging is not a form of bonding — it is a punishable offense.
Legal Framework
As per the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Supreme Court of India, ragging is a criminal offense. Those found guilty may face:
- Immediate suspension or expulsion
- Legal action including FIRs and criminal prosecution
- Cancellation of admission
- Debarring from exams, scholarships, or placements
Preventive Measures
We take proactive steps to eliminate ragging through:
- Awareness campaigns and orientation programs
- Anti-ragging undertakings from students and parents
- CCTV surveillance in hostels and campus areas
- Dedicated anti-ragging committees and squads
- Strict monitoring and anonymous reporting systems
